Hi there! I'm a 20 year old student currently studying "Digital Systems and Computer Engineering" in the UK. It may seem a weird connection, video editing, and engineering, but I'm so glad I got into it as I really enjoy it.

The whole thing started off during the first semester of my academic year. I was finding the learning very easy, as it was all stuff I learnt in my last year of college, and I often found myself browsing the internet in my spare time. I then came across a website, with comedy videos on, and I saw "Lightsaber Kid" or what ever the thing was.

Apart from finding it hilarious, I was intrigued at the whole lightsaber using a computer thing. It was then my research began into the whole idea of video editing. I ended up several times, at fanfilms boards, which led me to tutorials on the matter. I already had a camcorder I could borrow, and a willing friend to practice with. After making an embarrassing trip to Toys 'R' Us, with my girlfriend's family, we were set to do our first shoot.

We did our shoot in a woods, for it provided a decent secluded area, so we didn't feel stupid dressed as Jedi, twirling toy sabers round our heads! We shot all the footage, I downloaded it, and a demo version of Adobe After effects onto my PC, and began editing. The whole thing came out extremely well, and I was proud of what I had achieved. So proud, and having a few days left over, I decided to have a go at a few other effects. However, I got so hooked to it, that I decided to buy After Effects, and carry on editing in my spare time.

Now I'm constantly trying to come up with new ideas of other effects and how to go about them. I'm currently in the process of scripting two new movies, so effects will have to wait for a bit. Planning on another Lightsaber fight, and hopefully an action sequence. I hope to carry on video editing, if not as a profession, then as a serious hobby!
